Journal Article 2025 12 18 Nezami Ganjavi's epic <em>Khosrow and Shirin</em>, despite its historical and lyrical structure, contains hidden layers of mythological elements. This article employs a descriptive-analytical method to examine the mythological substructure of the story of Khosrow and Shirin, proposing a hypothesis that this narrative derives from the ancient archetype of the marriage between the peri (fairy) and the hero. In this framework, Shirin is analyzed as a manifestation of the peri in mythology, with attributes such as supernatural beauty, enchantment, connection with water, shape-shifting, a desire for fertility through heroes, and possession of treasure and many servants being attributed to her. Similarly, symbols like Shirin’s connection with lions, horses, and remote palaces further emphasize her peri-like qualities. This mythological interpretation adds internal coherence to the elements of the story and offers a deeper understanding of the text. The present paper argues that the enduring appeal of the Khosrow and Shirin narrative lies not only in Nezami’s storytelling prowess but also in its unconscious connection to mythological structures embedded in Iranian culture. This research also addresses questions about how archetypal motifs continue to persist in classical Persian literature. منظومه خسرو و شیرین نظامی گنجوی با وجود ساختار تاریخی و تغزلی‌اش لایه‌های پنهان اسطوره‌ای را نیز در خود نهفته دارد. این مقاله با روش توصیفی- تحلیلی به بررسی ژرف‌ساخت اسطوره‌ای داستان خسرو و شیرین می‌پردازد و با استناد به هجده قرینه درون‌متنی فرضیه‌ای را مبنی بر برگرفته شدن این روایت از بُن‌مایه کهن همسریِ پری با یلان مطرح می‌سازد. در این چارچوب، شیرین به عنوان نمودی از پری در اسطوره‌ها تحلیل می‌شود و ویژگی‌هایی چون زیبایی فراطبیعی، افسون‌گری، پیوند با آب، پیکرگردانی، میل به باروری از پهلوانان و در اختیار داشتن گنجینه و خدمت‌کاران فراوان به او نسبت داده می‌شود. به همین نحو نشانه‎ هایی چون پیوند شیرین با شیر، اسب و قصرهای دورافتاده مؤید وجوه پری‌وار اوست. این تفسیرِ اسطوره‌ای، انسجامی درونی به عناصر داستان بخشیده و فهم عمیق‌تری از متن ارائه می‌دهد. مقاله پیشِ‌روی می‌کوشد تا این انگاره را مطرح کند که راز ماندگاری داستان خسرو و شیرین نه فقط در قدرت روایت نظامی بلکه در ارتباط ناخودآگاهِ آن با ساختارهای اسطوره‌ای نهفته در فرهنگ ایرانی است. این پژوهش همچنین به پرسش‌هایی درباره چگونگی تداوم بن‌مایه‌های اسطوره‌ای در ادبیاتِ قدیمِ فارسی پاسخ می‌دهد. https://perlit.tabrizu.ac.ir/article_21335_5cf8443b34c13623b4ee484e282d2876.pdf
